ALCAs Annual General Meeting is over for another year. I thought it went really well. Goodies to eat were very good! Besides thinking of my stomach, lots of things were accomplished and are now on the go. The new executive is now established and a few new ideas for our Lure Coursing trials are in the works. More to come as developments pick up momentum. We are out to try and make lure coursing more fun for the club members and for the people that attend our trials. The Trike is back up and running---the ride-on lawn mower was a tad bit too slow to re-string with, but, that was better than having to do it the old fashioned way, walking!
Next on the Agenda, well, Christmas----It tends to be a quiet time of the year for the club in terms of outdoor activities but other things are going on, like, Bunch. Love these get-togethers, seems that we hardly recognize each other when we put on our "glad-rags" instead of the regular "field togs". Practices will be announced later towards spring and our trials will be announced when CKC gives use our dates, hopefully the ones we submitted.
That's it for today.........
Alberta Lure Coursing Association is a club for lure coursing folk and their sighthounds. Located in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, the club has been holding Canadian Kennel Club sanctioned lure coursing trials since 1980. At the present time we are holding two weekend trials per year, usually in the spring and fall. Please E-Mail for more information.

Who Should Govern Lure Coursing In Canada?
*Well, things are certainly gathering steam in the Lure Coursing community regarding the CKC new adopted fees for events; especially if you happen to be a non-member of the CKC.
Dissatisfaction with the way the CKC has handled the financial affairs of the club and an underlying symptom of bad management of Lure Coursing in General. The CKC simply is not interested in Lure Coursing! Period.
It has been suggested that Lure Coursing inCanada go back to its original roots of the CSFA (Canadian Sighthound Field Association). Disassociate from the CKC and go back to holding trials under CSFA rules.
What do you think?
